Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 20 March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the Urban Entry website (www.urbanentry.co.nz), you accept and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or place an order. Urban Entry is a New Zealand sole trader operating from Wellington, New Zealand.
2. Use Licence
Permission is granted to temporarily access the materials on the Urban Entry website for personal, non-commercial viewing only. This is the grant of a licence, not a transfer of title, and under this licence you may not:
- Modify or copy the materials
- Use the materials for any commercial purpose or public display
- Attempt to reverse engineer any software contained on the website
- Remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials
This licence shall automatically terminate if you violate any of these restrictions.
3. Products and Pricing
3.1 Product Information
We strive to provide accurate product descriptions, images, and pricing. As our letterboxes are handcrafted, minor natural variations in wood grain, colour, and finish are inherent to the material and are not considered defects. Product images are representative and the final product may vary slightly.
3.2 Pricing
All prices are displayed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). Urban Entry is not currently registered for GST; prices shown are GST-exempt. Prices do not include shipping and handling charges, which are shown at checkout. We reserve the right to modify prices at any time, but any price change will not affect an order that has already been accepted.
4. Orders and Payment
4.1 Order Acceptance
Your order is an offer to purchase products from us. We reserve the right to accept or decline your order for any reason, including product availability, errors in pricing or product information, or concerns identified by our payment processor. A binding contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation.
4.2 Payment
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By placing an order, you agree to provide current, complete, and accurate payment information. We do not store your card details — all payment data is handled directly by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS standards.
5. Shipping and Delivery
All orders are shipped from Wellington, New Zealand. We ship within New Zealand only. Flat-rate shipping applies based on your island — full details are available on our Shipping Policy page. Please allow up to 5 business days for order processing and preparation before dispatch.
Delivery timeframes after dispatch are estimates provided by our shipping partner and are not guaranteed. Risk of loss passes to you upon handover to the carrier. If your item arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours with photographic evidence.
6. Returns and Refunds
6.1 Change of Mind Returns
If you change your mind, you may return your letterbox within 7 days of delivery for a refund of the product price, less the original shipping cost. The item must be returned in its original condition (you may open and inspect the product). Return shipping costs are at your expense.
6.2 Faulty or Damaged Goods
If your letterbox arrives faulty or damaged, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 apply (see Section 8). Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage. We will arrange a repair, replacement, or full refund at no cost to you.
6.3 Refund Process
To initiate a return, please contact us at [email protected]. Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process your refund to the original payment method within 10–14 business days.
6.4 Non-Returnable Items
The following are not eligible for change-of-mind returns:
- Customised or personalised items (e.g. letterboxes with custom street numbers or finishes ordered to specification)
- Items returned more than 7 days after delivery
- Items damaged through misuse, improper installation, or negligence
Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
7. Warranty
Our handcrafted wooden letterboxes are built to a high standard using quality New Zealand timber. We warrant our products against defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by misuse, improper installation, or neglect
- Natural weathering and ageing of timber (expected over time)
- Damage caused by accidents or acts of nature
For warranty claims, please contact us at [email protected]. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 apply in addition to this warranty and are not limited by it.
8. Your Consumer Rights (New Zealand)
As a New Zealand consumer, you have rights under the following legislation that cannot be excluded or limited by these terms:
- Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA): Goods must be of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, match their description, and be free from defects. If they are not, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund depending on the severity of the failure.
- Fair Trading Act 1986: We are prohibited from making misleading or deceptive representations about our products, pricing, or services.
Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit or exclude any rights you have under New Zealand law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, Urban Entry shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products or website. Our total liability for any claim related to a product shall not exceed the purchase price paid for that product.
This limitation does not apply to any liability that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any other applicable New Zealand law.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, images, and product designs — is the property of Urban Entry and is protected under applicable New Zealand and international intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any content from this website without our prior written permission.
11. Prohibited Uses
You may not use our website:
- In any way that violates any applicable New Zealand or international law or regulation
- To transmit any malicious code, spam, or viruses
- To impersonate or attempt to impersonate Urban Entry or any of its representatives
- To engage in any automated scraping or data harvesting of the website
- To interfere with or disrupt the website, servers, or networks
12. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts. Applicable legislation includes, but is not limited to, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, and the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the website after any changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
